NECO vs WAEC result checking: what’s different
Last updated: 2026-06-04
NECO and WAEC both work the same way in principle — buy a result-checking token/PIN and enter it on that body’s official portal — but the two systems are entirely separate. A NECO token only checks NECO results, and a WAEC PIN only checks WAEC results.

Frequently asked questions
Is checking NECO and WAEC the same? +
The idea is the same — buy a result-checking PIN/token and enter it on the body’s portal — but each uses its own portal and its own token. A NECO token cannot check a WAEC result.
Can I use a WAEC card for NECO? +
No. They are different examination bodies with separate systems.
How many checks per token? +
A NECO token allows up to 5 checks; WAEC PIN usage limits are set by WAEC and differ.
